Where to begin? I first met Adrienne on October 27th, 2018. We were both volunteering at our church’s Fall Festival, (I was keeping bonfires fed and she was helping kids bowl with pumpkins). I didn’t think much of our initial meeting as it wasn’t much more than a quick introduction by our Young Adult leaders. Little did I know what we’d become. Time passed and our church opened up a campus in Clearbrook. We both volunteered to serve there not knowing that would set us up on a collision course with each other. We seldom talked during our initial time at the new campus; both focused on our areas of serving, but we became separate Young Adult group leaders during this time and we’d start making small talk about each other’s groups. Our campus celebrated 1 year at Clearbrook then Covid happened. While the world grew further apart from each other Adrienne and myself started growing closer. It was through this that we made the decision to try dating and see how it went. We went on our first date on April 17th, 2021 and it went really well. I’d never felt so comfortable on a date before. But I couldn’t help shaking the feeling that this wasn’t the right time for us to be together and decided to put a hold on us. This was one of the toughest thing’s I’ve ever had to do and we both walked away hurt and confused. I didn’t know if we’d ever get back to being friends again; let alone in a relationship. As it turns out we couldn’t go more than a few days without talking to each other and actually grew even closer through this experience. After a while it seemed like the right time to pursue a relationship and we became official on October 10th, 2021. We very quickly discovered that we couldn’t go without having each other in our lives and we became engaged on March 19th, 2022. I love Adrienne very much and can’t wait to start our life together ❤️
