How We Met

July 12th, 2019

My best friend, Jenna, and I made plans to go to Big Whiskey in downtown Puyallup on a Saturday night. A few hours (and a couple of drinks) later, some guys were trying to talk to me and would not leave me alone, in fact, I was trying to walk away. Austin came in, like my knight in shining armor, swooped me away and saved me. Austin and his friend took me to the bar, asked for my Snapchat, ordered me a jaeger bomb shot, and walked away. He didn’t talk to me the rest of the night, which had me so confused. A couple of days later, I get a message on Snapchat from him. We started FaceTiming daily. After a week of talking, Austin asked me to be his girlfriend. I said no, it was too soon, and we are still getting to know each other. He asked again the next day, and the next day. Fourth time was the charm, I said yes on July 21, 2019. Here we are 5 years later, a house, a dog, and an amazing little boy.

The Proposal

August 11, 2023

Austin scheduled a nail appointment for Friday, August 11th, 2023, at a new nail salon I wanted to try. After making a big breakfast, I came downstairs in jean shorts and t-shirt, which Austin told me I was not going to leave the house looking like that. He followed me upstairs and talked to me while I did my make-up and got ready. Eventually I was able to leave for the appointment. Of course, like any nail salon, they were packed. While I was getting my nails done, Austin had gotten Kaycen ready and went to the store for roses and tea light candles. They zoomed over to my parent’s house where my dad was home. Austin talked with my dad and asked for his blessing to marry his daughter. Dad said yes, and Austin raced home to set up the scene. As Kaycen took a nap, Austin lined the entryway of our home with tea lights and sprinkled rose petals down the aisle. I pulled into the driveway and walked through the front door, and at the end of the isle, stood Austin. I walked down the aisle, and Austin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I (of course) said yes! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
