Brittney's Version We met on Tinder in the typical way most couples do nowadays, though I had no intention of actually finding someone online. I came across his profile late one night, and was instantly drawn to him. He had this charm and genuineness about him that seemed too good to be true. Jay reached out to me and we texted nonstop until we met on December 15th, 2017 at Glazed and Confused. I had to work in the morning and had intended to cancel our date that afternoon. I actually did technically cancel, as I was going to have to stay at work a little later than planned. But not even five minutes after I cancelled, I was told I could be done for the day, and I had a gut feeling that I should reach out and let him know I could still make it. Three hours later, we decided to end our date, not because we had tired of each other but because we thought we had overstayed our welcome in the coffee shop. We went our separate ways, but only temporarily as we went on two more dates within the next three days. To keep up with the fast pace we had already set, we were dating one week later, said "I love you" one week after that, and I had a key to Jay's apartment and eating more than my fair share of the snacks according to Jordan. I will never let Jay get away with not kissing me that first day, but I now get to kiss him everyday for the rest of my life so I'd say I got a pretty good deal. Jay's Version I had just recently gone on a different Tinder date with a girl who spent the entire time talking about her stomach ulcers and was ready to give up on dating apps. That's when I matched with Brittney. She was beautiful and funny and I knew that I had to meet her. We set a date for December 15, 2017 at Glazed and Confused, a coffee shop right by the apartment I was sharing with my brother at the time. I had a law school final that day and was mentally exhausted, but still wanted to go. However, HQ Trivia was all the rage at the time and I was in the middle of my best round ever. I had made it to question 9 and thought, "I'm going to have to cancel on this girl. This is my best round ever!" Thankfully for both of us, I lost shortly there after and made it on time. The date was the easiest three hours I have ever spent. Our conversation was effortless and I knew I wanted to see this girl again so I asked her out the very next night. Brittney gives me a lot of flack for not kissing her the first night, but having our first kiss in the Dagwoods' parking lot after burgers and a couple rounds of Labatt's is much more fitting for our story. 9 days later I asked her to be my girlfriend. She got a key to our apartment (much to Jordan's dismay) less than a month later, and we moved in together 6 months after that. The rest is history and the future starts on August 26, 2023.
