Well, friends and family, just like everyone else, we are evaluating the circumstances and having to make some hard decisions on how to move forward with our wedding plans. Due to COVID-19, we will be having a very intimate ceremony with 10 people or less. While it saddens us deeply that we cannot begin our marriage in celebration with all of you, we plan to celebrate at a later date! We are beyond thrilled to be getting married, even amidst the chaos, and we look forward to our 'staycation' honeymoon in our new home together. While certainly not ideal, we are embracing the situation for what it is. It will surely be one for the memory books! Stay tuned for more details on a future day of celebration!
Back in 2014, Chad noticed Brittany in photos from a Nicaraguan mission trip. His interest was piqued at that point as he had been to Nicaragua five times himself. Little did he know what that little spark of interest would turn into. In 2015, Chad bumped into Brittany at a church service he was attending because he was giving a friend a ride to church, but he was too nervous to start up a conversation. Eventually, an "accidental" run-in at Caribou Coffee on Valentine's Day led to some Facebook messaging which then led to their first date at Caribou Coffee in March.
We have spent the last nearly five years learning and growing and mostly enjoying! Brittany has had to learn the difference between a tractor and a combine and a sprayer and a planter...they were all "tractors" to her at the beginning! Chad has learned what it means to "go to the lake" in the summertime and how to survive a camping trip! Some memorable things for both of us are many dates in the farm equipment, sharing meals when we go out to eat, breakfast and coffee dates, our trip to Kansas City for One Thing and a little getaway to Duluth last summer. We both enjoy traveling and hiking and look forward to many adventures ahead!
On January 22, 2020, we went out to a lovely dinner and even enjoyed dessert! Following that, Chad brought Brittany to Caribou Coffee on 25th street. We sat in almost the same place we had sat on our first date and reminisced on all of our fun times together! Chad proposed right before closing, and he had purchased a handmade wooden ring box from Nicaragua :) Of course, Brittany said "yes!", and here we are about to jump into marriage in a few short weeks!!!
