I always thought of Brian Lavery as the cute corporate boy at work who was always on-the-go with a cup of coffee in hand. He worked at our office building down the road, but I noticed that he was often at the Studio where I work for some reason. I saw him at various work events and I quickly noticed that he was such a fun person to be around that I grew a little crush; however, he definitely did not know who I was! One afternoon, he came up to my desk! That day, we accidentally stayed at work a little too late because we could not stop talking. I remember driving home thinking I never wanted to leave—that I could have stayed there all night talking with him. Turns out, that cute corporate boy quickly turned into someone I can not imagine my life without. I am so excited that I get to live out this dream of marrying my best friend.
To this day, I remember the first time I ever saw Caleigh. It was during a work event, and I saw her from across the room. I stopped in my tracks. That’s when it all started for me. I plotted a plan to introduce myself, but I failed to work up the courage time and time again. For months, I talked about Caleigh to my coworker. I talked about her to him so much that he got sick of me. Then one night, it all changed. I finally worked up enough courage and went over to her desk to talk to her at the studio. That talk lasted hours. Hours turned to days, days turned to weeks, weeks turned to years. If you ask someone about love at first sight and if it’s real, many will simply respond with a dramatic eye roll. For me, it’s the easiest answer in the world: “Yes—it was the moment I saw Caleigh from across the room." Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
