Rachel and Rob both included “Proof I Can Play a Musical Instrument” on their Hinge profiles. Rachel recorded an improvised song on the ukulele about what she was looking for in a match. Rob had an acoustic cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.” Within two months of their first date, Rob and Rachel were writing songs about each other. Some of their earliest dates were at concerts. Some of their most memorable dates were at musicals, for better (Wicked) and for worse (Tommy). Music, from the beginning, has been at the core of Rachel and Rob’s relationship. It started as two people trading verses and quickly became an intricate duet.
