How we met

8-17-17

Adam and Michelle originally met in 2015 through Saw You at Sinai while Adam lived in Chicago and Michelle was in LA. They fell in love at first sight and instantly bonded over their love of sports, Judaism and travel. However, the timing simply wasn't right for them and they split up. A year and a half later, Michelle and Adam reconnected. After several talks and a few meetings, Michelle moved to the Upper West Side and started dating Adam again in August, 2017. This time, they had a greater appreciation for their special bond and have decided to stay together forever.

The Proposal

6-3-18

When it comes to romance, Adam and Michelle could not be more different. Adam loves to surprise Michelle whereas Michelle likes predictability. Yet, Michelle knows Adam so well that pulling off a surprise is often a challenge. Need proof? For their 6-month anniversary, Adam planned a surprise trip to the Basketball Hall of Fame and a UConn women's basketball game. But five minutes into the drive, Michelle figured out the entire weekend! Fast forward to the proposal. Michelle figured out the exact date and location of Adam's proposal weeks before it was planned. In fact, Michelle even wore a dress and makeup on the hike! However, Adam would not be denied the chance to surprise Michelle. He hired a violinist to meet him at the top of the Perkins Memorial Tower at Bear Mountain to play Perfect by Ed Sheeran when Michelle and Adam finished the hike. There was only one problem. In typical Adam fashion, he got the couple lost and off-trail. Michelle eventually bailed out Adam's lack of navigation skills and got them back on track. However, they were running late. To make up time, Adam and Michelle sprinted through the first part of the trail only to encounter a steep hike the rest of the way. As someone accustomed to flat terrain in Chicago, Adam became winded and unable to speak for much of the hike. Finally, this couple accomplished their mission and made it to the tower. Despite being exhausted, sweaty and breathless, Adam proposed to his fiance, just as he planned with Perfect playing in the background. Michelle and Adam couldn't be happier for their engagement and look forward to building a life together.
