Chelsea and I met through mutual friends at an SDSU house party and quickly connected chatting about reality tv shows, being San Diego natives, and a shared love for Miller High Life (The Champagne of Beers). About a year later, we were hanging out every week with the same friend group, and we all decided to move in together. Talk about a full house with seven people in four rooms... A couple months into the lease, I asked Chelsea to go out for sandwiches, and she said "should I ask the roomies if they want to go too?" and I said "no lets go, just us." The hangouts with just the two of us continued and we realized we were inseparable.

A lot of mine and Daniel's dates after the sandwich shop were in Coronado. We'd have beach days, watch the sunsets, and have dinner dates on the island. Every year Daniel's family would have dinner on Christmas Eve in Coronado, and as the years went on, I started to join them. Come December 2022, the Milláns were headed to Coronado for another Christmas time visit. Daniel told me he wanted to get there a bit earlier to have a drink and watch the sunset before dinner with his family. I had no idea I was getting proposed to that year... We got to the beach and Daniel told me he wanted to walk up to the water, to which I was hesitant because I did not dress for walking through the beach dunes of Coronado... but I followed him anyway. He stopped in front of me and said he wanted to give me an early Christmas present. He pulled out a box, but it wasn't shaped like a ring box... I opened it up and there lied a Christmas tree ornament with both our names on it, the date, and in the middle it said "ENGAGED." I immediately started crying and was in complete shock. As Daniel went down on one knee and began pouring his heart out to me, I sunk to my knees with tears of joy and obviously said yes to the love of my life and the best Christmas present ever!
