On a warm autumn night, Mili and Saurabh ventured out to the local Washington Heights tavern, about to be set up by mutual friends. Mili, having thoroughly stalked Saurabh to the limits of his Facebook privacy settings, knew what to expect: a cute pre-medical student interested in brains who alas stood no chance in her busy medical school life. Saurabh, having lost his Facebook password months ago, didn't even know Mili's name. Regardless, there they both were, on the corner of 163rd Street, wholly unaware of what was to follow. Sparks flew that night! Saurabh not only learned Mili's name, but also about her unexpected knowledge of Toy Story 3 trivia and her ability to bake delicious peanut butter chocolate cupcakes. Mili learned that Saurabh was actually far past his premed years and had his sights set on neurosurgery, but also had a strange penchant for Instagramming pictures of lightbulbs. A series of text messages ensued the very next day, and their relationship started taking shape over puns, pathophysiology, and poor jokes. Saurabh won Mili's heart when he approved of her early November Christmas decorations and sent her corny mnemonics while she studied for Step 1. Mili won Saurabh's heart with her never-ending laughter and when he realized that he had cited an old paper of hers in his own manuscript before he even met her. It's the little things that make this relationship work. The past years have seen them through ice cream dates, late night pizza, and conversations about life, medicine, vacation destinations, and the battle of vanilla versus chocolate. They've hiked together to great heights, and helped each other through their lows, and the whole thing has been filled with a lot of laughter and a lot of love.
