Julia and Miles met the summer after fifth grade at a church back-to-school event. Miles quickly nicknamed Julia "Trivia" because according to Miles, she was really smart (and she thought that was pretty cute). The nickname didn't stick beyond that night, but their budding friendship did. They began hanging out in groups with friends and spending hours on FaceTime together. It was during those long conversations that they got to know one another better and, as Julia remembers it, it's how Miles became her best friend. As the years continued, that friendship became more than a friendship and the two began "dating" in the seventh grade. It was during this time that Julia also began attending church with Miles and his family regularly. The summer after their seventh grade year, Miles had the privilege of leading Julia to the Lord. This is one of their most treasured memories. Middle school sweethearts became high school sweethearts as the two continued to grow up together. Finishing high school was a bittersweet time, because Julia had (reluctantly) chosen to leave home and attend college in Harrisonburg, VA at James Madison University. About 2 hours and 20 minutes away from home, and from Miles. He assured her that they would make it work just like they always had. And they have! Reliving their early middle school days, they have spent hours on FaceTime navigating their new worlds of college and working full time: together, but apart. Julia has come home almost every weekend since she's been at JMU and she doesn't mind the drive. By mid-December she will be graduated and it's hard to tell which one of the two is more excited. Following the wedding, Julia will be moving in with Miles into a small "fixer-upper" in Colonial Heights, VA. They have enjoyed working together on this property for the last few months, completing renovations and preparing the house to be their home. Over the last nine years, Miles and Julia have lived a lot of life together, with more memories than there is room to write on this page. They have watched each other grow up, and have done it together. Both will say they can't imagine who they would be without the other. They are so excited to enter into this next and newest season of life together, and pray for many years to live and love each other as husband and wife.
