FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/business-casual attire. Ladies should wear dresses or dress pants, and gentlemen should wear a shirt and tie with dress pants.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors by Otsego Lake. The reception will occur indoors at the Otesaga Hotel. In the event of rain, an alternate location will be utilized for the ceremony. Fall weather in upstate New York can be unpredictable. Just like when the happy couple goes hiking, layers are recommended.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the day. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive half an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the ceremony started as scheduled!

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Parking is available free of charge at both venues.

Question

Will there be a hotel block?

Answer

No, there will not be a specified hotel block of rooms. However, there are several hotel options in the area with different rates. If you plan to stay the night at a nearby hotel, we encourage you to book sooner rather than later because the wedding is scheduled for peak leaf peeper season.

Question

Will transportation be provided between my lodging and the event locations?

Answer

No. Additionally, there is a short drive between the ceremony and reception locations.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

No. Mimosas and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

The ceremony is an unplugged, phone-free event. However, feel free to take as many photos as you want during the reception. Please tag us in your photos on social media so that we can see them, too!
