The year was 2017. Pretty sure it was the fall. Becky and Miles worked at the same huge company but didn't really know one another. One day at work, from across a cubicle, Becky saw a handsome guy chatting to her new work friend. Well, he wasn't actually chatting... he was registering her to vote! This voter registrar, Miles, asked Becky if she was registered - she was and the conversation ended there. Several months later, let's say Spring 2018, a mutual friend invited several folks to a happy hour at Little Dipper. Both Miles and Becky were there and chatted a bit. Miles stepped outside to mingle with some other friends and, to his dismay, when he returned, Becky was already gone. He was really enjoying their conversation and thought she was hella cute. Fast forward to December of 2018 and Miles is enjoying a weeklong staycation. Becky is about to play in the Houston Pride Band's Holiday Concert. Unbeknownst to Miles and Becky, a friend had been trying to play Cupid for the past several months to set the two of them up and it seems her vision was about to be realized. Which friend? Well, it was the same friend whom Miles registered to vote lo those many months ago. It was the one who invited both to the happy hour just a few months later. Her name was (and still is) Lindsey; we also think her partner Ely was in cahoots. Regardless, all this Cupid team had to do was convince Miles to come to Becky's concert with them. The conversation may have gone something like: Lindsey: Oh Hey, my friend has a concert tonight - want to come? Miles: Oh rad, uh, maybe? What kind of music? Lindsey: Oh, uh, it's symphonic music. Miles: Oh. Lindsey: ...? Miles: Um, yeah um, see, I got these video games to play, sooooo... Lindsey: Seriously? Miles: Yeh Ely: Are you sure? Miles: ... Ely: !!?? Miles: Fiiiiiiine I'll goooooo We are very happy to report that Miles attended the concert. Becky was so jazzed to have friends there and afterwards she invited them all to have a nightcap at the fancy bar down the block called Double Trouble. Becky and Miles really hit it off that very night and they've been coupled up ever since! <3
