Miles and I both were working for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution at the time. He was an engineer and I was a biologist. Both of us were invited to participate on a short research cruise to test out the new research vessel. I thought he had a nice smile and was very friendly, he thought I was pretty cute. A few years later at the work Christmas party we bumped into each other again, and the rest is history.

We took a trip to Tulum, Mexico to celebrate my recent graduation. Our first day there, we enjoyed cocktails and the first of many tacos on the beach. That night, we went to a nice dinner and he ordered prosecco to toast to my graduation. Instead, we cheers-ed to an engagement and enjoyed the rest of our time in Mexico on a pre-wedding honeymoon.
