We're Getting Married!

In the winter of 2022, we met for the first time and instantly felt a connection. Conversation came easily, laughter followed naturally, and it didn’t take long to realize that something special was unfolding. That winter was a busy one—Milena with a trip to Italy, Vince with a trip to Hawaii, and Vince often working long hours and plenty of overtime, leaving very little time to slow down. But as fate—and God—would have it, everything changed in the most unexpected and beautiful way. Vince broke his wrist and was unexpectedly out of work for a few weeks. What we didn’t know at the time was that this moment would mark the true beginning of our love story. With time suddenly on our side, we began seeing each other more often and talking for hours on end, day and night. By February 2023, our relationship had grown deeper, and that’s when our real love story truly began. Centered in Jesus, we attended our first Ash Wednesday Mass together and soon made going to church every Sunday a shared commitment. Our faith became the foundation of our relationship and continues to guide us each step of the way. As our love grew, so did our sense of adventure. Vince introduced Milena to jet skiing, snowmobiling, side-by-sides, and ATVs—filling our lives with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories. We both believe that the greatest things happen when you least expect them, and that belief perfectly describes both the beginning of our relationship and our engagement. Vince proposed on Milena’s favorite day of the year—Christmas Day—surrounded by the people she loves most. When it came time to open gifts, Vince handed Milena a flat box and said, “Milena, I know how much you love adventure—this box has a lot of it.” Milena couldn’t help but wonder, What kind of adventure could possibly be in a box like this? As she opened it, Vince surprised her with a blue neon sign that read “Mrs. Rizzi.” In that instant, everything stopped. Milena saw the sign, instantly knew what was happening, and turned to find Vince on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. It was a moment filled with shock, joy, and overwhelming love. Two Christmases earlier, Vince had gifted Milena a similar sign that read “Miss Procope,” which proudly hangs as the centerpiece of her classroom—a quiet reminder that God’s plan was already in motion long before that magical day. Now, as we prepare to stand before God, our family, and our friends to say “I do,” our hearts are overflowing with excitement and gratitude. We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day and begin this next chapter of life together—hand in hand, grounded in faith, filled with love, and ready for every adventure yet to come.
