FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For our wedding, we've chosen a Garden Party Semi-Formal dress code that celebrates the beauty and joy of our special day. Ladies, we invite you to embrace vibrant elegance in long, bright, or pastel-colored dresses, with delightful floral prints welcome. Gentlemen, we encourage you to complement the garden atmosphere with pastel or bright-colored ties or shirts, and consider a light-colored suit, though a black or blue suit is appropriate, as well. Please note that casual wear, including khakis, is not appropriate. We're excited to see everyone looking beautifully coordinated and festive!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We warmly welcome children who are specifically invited to our wedding celebration. To ensure a smooth experience for all guests, we kindly request families with young children to be seated towards the back of the ceremony, allowing for a discreet exit if needed. While we love children, please note this is an adult-centered event where we appreciate your help in maintaining a calm atmosphere. If you're seeking babysitting recommendations, Sarah would be happy to assist you.

Question

What happens if I’m late?

Answer

Our ceremony begins precisely on schedule. Late arrivals will be kindly asked to wait outside until the ceremony concludes. We recommend arriving early to enjoy a welcome drink and comfortably find your seat, ensuring you don't miss a moment of our special day!

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, we'll be offering an open bar with complimentary drinks throughout our celebration. We kindly ask that everyone enjoys responsibly and arranges safe transportation home using services like Uber or Lyft.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all our beloved guests, only those explicitly named on your invitation are included. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking at The Elia is limited, so we recommend carpooling or using ridesharing services. For added convenience, we've secured room blocks at nearby hotels within walking distance of the venue, making transportation easy for all our guests.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that guests do not take photos during the event. We have professional photographers to capture every moment so we can unplug and enjoy!

Question

What hotel should I stay in?

Answer

We've reserved room blocks at a convenient hotel near our wedding venue. Please see the TRAVEL tab for additional info. For the easiest access to The Elia, we recommend staying in downtown Wilmington. Please avoid hotels located on Market Street, as they may not provide the most convenient location for our wedding celebrations.
