Joe and Julia first met working at Frito Lay in 2017. Joe had started one month before Julia did and they met for the first time at Julia’s meet and greet. The ice breaker question for the meet and greet was “What is the theme song for your life?”. Joe’s answer was the Pokémon theme song because, “He wanted to be the very best”. A classic nonsensical Joe answer. Julia came up to Joe afterwards and her first words to him were, “I hate you… now I have that song stuck in my head.” Joe then replied, “That’s okay, you’re going to be working nights so we won’t ever have to talk to each other again.” It would not be the first time Joe would be wrong. Joe and Julia did in fact end up talking a lot and were good friends for the first year they knew each other. They bonded over being young adults navigating life alongside their new Frito friends that also started the same year as them. The self proclaimed “Frito Baes” all passed the time at Julia and her roommate, Jackie’s apartment in Providence and making memories in the city. In early 2018, Joe and Julia had planned to go watch the movie “A Quiet Place” together with their friend Shannon. Shannon ended up not being able to come so they decided to just go together. Julia unfortunately fell asleep before Joe arrived. A classic Julia trope. If there is one thing to know about Julia - it’s that the girl enjoys her naps. Joe waited outside for almost an hour and tried to call Julia to get her to wake up before he ended up leaving. Julia woke up another hour later feeling bad that she missed the movie so she called Joe to apologize. He said it was fine and not to worry about it as he had already made new plans to hang out with some of his college friends. However since Julia wanted to make up for it she ended up yapping on the phone for 2 hours (he didn’t end up hanging out with his friends). Joe also has yet to see “A Quiet Place”. This incident kickstarted a routine between the two where they would call each other often just to chat. It felt so easy and natural and they often talked for hours without realizing it. Joe and Julia’s friends started to notice they were getting closer and wondered why Joe hadn’t made a move yet. In May of 2018, they went on a trip to Ireland with their friends Jackie and Shannon where Julia finally made a move (she was sick of waiting). Next week, on June 16, 2018 the two officially got together (ironically) at the Providence Pride Parade and became a couple to none of their friends surprise! In 2019 Joe and Julia moved in together at the regency plaza in Providence with their dog, Sky. They continued their relationship getting to know each other more, spending time together and traveling. Joe and Julia found that they enjoyed a lot of the same things, such as food, travel, sports, games, and watching shows together. In 2020 they navigated the global pandemic together as Julia attempted to embrace fitness while Joe embraced day drinking. In 2021, Julia received a promotion to work in NY and commuted back and forth for a year until Joe was finally able to make the move later. In 2022 Joe joined Julia where they bought their first home together in Chester, NY. Together they navigated home ownership (spending way too much money trying to figure out how to manage their pool). Luckily they had supportive family, friends, and neighbors to help them along the way! Fast forward to October 28th 2023, Joe proposed to Julia in Central Park surrounded by their family and friends. Joe had picked the one sunny day in October and they ended up having hundreds of random strangers from the tri-state area photographing them. It was definitely a day to remember. As of then it was the official start to their forever! Joe and Julia are so grateful for their journey together and cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together. They are also so thankful for everyone who has helped them along the way and cannot wait to celebrate with you all at the wedding!
