We're getting married!

On my 23rd birthday, my friends and I were celebrating at Main Event in Plano, TX. Our plan was to bowl the night away as the last few hours of my special day ticked away. One of my good friends, Apurva, had invited Aarti to stop by and bowl with us for a bit. She came for maybe an hour, but in that hour my world stopped. I froze up and awkwardly asked for her Snapchat. After bowling, we ended up talking until 3am. Two complete strangers, serendipity. We spent a large part of the following week together. I knew she was someone very special and I cared for her as if she was my best friend already. A week later, on September 23rd, I asked her out with a Nike box containing a pair of Black Nike Prestos shoes. Written inside the box was a question: "Will you go out with me?", followed by the phrase: "Just Do It." She said yes, and our relationship took off.

The first weekend of March was another routine trip to Garland for Aarti. Before she left home, I had informed her that we would be attending a corporate event at the Renaissance Hotel, so she would need to bring a dress with her. Ironically, she chose navy which was the same color as my suit. On March 3rd, instead of taking her to the "corporate event", we went to visit one of the most scenic areas of Texas: The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. We took a long stroll through the various gardens while the photographer was getting positioned. After about 20 minutes, I took Aarti down the beautiful, shaded path at the heart of the gardens while telling her how much I love her. Once we made our way to the end, I got down on one knee and popped the question. She was completely caught by surprise as the photographer came out, but her answer was a resounding "YES!" And just like that, we were engaged!
