The ceremony will most likely take place in Central Park during the afternoon. It will last about 10-15min, with group photos and dinner to immediately follow. Milaci and Jarett will be taking photos together beforehand, so they will meet guests at the park.
The suggested dress code is semi-formal. There will be group photos taken after the ceremony, and dinner at a nice restaurant following that. We recommend guests wear (or bring) shoes that are comfortable to walk in (as an example, Milaci will be wearing sneakers beneath her wedding dress). The weather in March can be a bit difficult to predict, and the ceremony will be taking place outside, so we suggest guests bring layers. Color-coordinating for the photos isn't required, but if guests would like to, we suggest considering rust oranges, blush pinks, sage greens, beiges, and burgundies for attire. Black is also always a safe bet. For reference, Jarett's suit will be dark green (hunter or emerald), and Milaci's dress (somewhat obviously) will be ivory.
There is extensive info regarding this in the TRAVEL tab! If you have any questions that aren't covered, please don't be afraid to reach out!
The ceremony itself will be held on 03/15/27 (which is a Monday), but outside of that, whatever works for your schedule is best! We have secured a hotel block at the Freehand from the 12th (Friday) until the 17th (Wednesday) but you are not required to book every one of those days. Get there whenever you can, and leave as soon as you need to! More info regarding the hotel can be found in the TRAVEL tab.
Book as early as you can! Rooms in the hotel block we've reserved are first come first serve, and we can't guarantee we'll be able to secure additional rooms once they're all booked. Use public transit instead of taxis/uber. The subway system will take you anywhere you want to go. It's $2.90 per ride, but the weekly fare cap is $34, so after your 12th ride, your card will stop being charged. Consider looking into an Amtrak train if flights are too expensive. That's how Milaci and Jarett be getting there, along with a few others! If the hotel we've reserved rooms at is out of your budget, look into staying down the street at Chelsea Hostel instead (more details are in the TRAVEL tab). Prices usually range from about $50-$150 per night, depending on when you book and what kind of room you get. It's easier to eat cheap here than you think! We've listed some great options on this page! If you need any groceries/bottled water/snacks, the cheapest place to get them is Trader Joe's. There are two within walking distance, one at 675 6th Ave, and one at 200 E 32nd St (right down the street from Chelsea Hostel).
Many pizza parlors throughout NYC offer slices for $1 or $2 per slice! They are usually BIG. One or two slices would totally suffice for a meal. Food carts are another NYC staple for cheap filling meals. There are hundreds of them on sidewalks throughout the city serving all different kinds of food. The hot dog carts are classic New York, but there are also Halal carts (another NYC staple), taco trucks, and carts that serve cheap bagels, breakfast, and coffee in the mornings. The bagels in NYC are legendary for a reason, and they're definitely large enough to serve as a meal if you get yours with cream cheese. Milaci recommends Pick-a-Bagel on 23rd (just down the street from Freehand). You can get a plain bagel for three bucks, and one with cream cheese (that they always HEAP on) for seven. Milaci's VERY favorite place to eat on the cheap while she was in college was, hands down, Vanessa's Dumpling House. There are a few locations throughout the city, but our tried and true is the one in Chinatown on Eldridge st. These days, eight dumplings are about six bucks, and they're the best dumplings you'll ever eat. We recommend getting the fried pork and chive dumplings! If you're craving something more familiar, NYC also has most of the fast food places you're used to!
