Here you’ll find helpful details about our wedding weekend—travel tips, dress code guidance, RSVP info, and more. We want your time in Sicily to be seamless and unforgettable, so we’ve gathered everything you might need to plan ahead.
Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Our wedding will be in Linguaglossa, Sicily, a beautiful town on the slopes of Mount Etna. The ceremony will take place at: Church Santa Maria delle Grazie Piazza Matrice, Linguaglossa CT, 95015, Italy followed immediately by the reception at: Tenuto Di Fessina Contrada Rovittello,, Via Nazionale SS 120, 22, Castiglione di Sicilia 95012, Italy

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends. Due to venue capacity and planning considerations, we are only able to accommodate the guests formally listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding and supporting us in keeping our celebration intimate.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 1, 2026 so we can finalize transportation, seating, and guest counts.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly request formal evening attire for this celebration. We invite guests to lean into the romantic spirit of Sicily in early fall, with colors inspired by the season: olive, terracotta, soft gold, deep wine, and other elegant autumn tones. As our ceremony will be held in a historic church, women may wish to bring a shawl or light cover-up for their shoulders. Please also keep in mind that some areas feature cobblestone streets and stone pathways, so block heels, thicker heels, or wedges are recommended for comfort.

Question

What should men wear?

Answer

Men are encouraged to wear a formal suit or tuxedo. Classic colors such as black, charcoal, navy, or deep wine tones are all appropriate. A tie or bow tie is required, and polished dress shoes are recommended. Because September evenings in Sicily are warm but breezy, lightweight fabrics (wool blends, linen blends) are comfortable and still formal.

Question

Are there color recommendations for women?

Answer

Yes — we kindly ask that women wear gowns in the wedding palette: burgundy, green, olive green, navy, mauve, blush pink, dark red, and plum. Neutrals and metallic accents are welcome— such as: black, brown, tan, and beige.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please note any dietary needs on your RSVP and we will accommodate them.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend getting situated at least a day in advance to prevent jet lag. We'd suggest arriving Thursday 9/24.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Catania–Fontanarossa (CTA), the closest major airport (about 45 minutes away).

Question

When should I book flights?

Answer

Sicily is a popular destination in late summer. Booking flights 6–9 months in advance is ideal.

Question

Do I need a visa?

Answer

U.S. citizens: Starting in 2026, travelers from the U.S. may need to complete the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) before entering the Schengen Area. Please check the official ETIAS website closer to your travel date for current requirements. Swiss, Austrian, and Italian citizens: No visa or ETIAS authorization is required to enter Italy. You only need a valid passport or national ID card. We recommend all guests double-check their travel documents before booking flights.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend Linguaglossa, Randazzo, and Piedimonte Etneo. Check the Travel tab for hotel recommendations. There are many nice, affordable Airbnb/VRBO villas in the area.

Question

How far are the hotels from the venue?

Answer

Most recommended stays are 5–20 minutes from the venue.

Question

How do I get around Sicily?

Answer

A car is highly recommended. Linguaglossa is a small village so Ubers and taxis aren't readily available. That said, private drivers are available from the airport in Catania. Its possible to take a train from Catania (the train station is a 3 minute shuttle bus ride away from the airport) to Giardini Naxos and then a taxi from Giardini Naxos to Linguaglossa but the taxis aren't as plentiful as other major cities.

Question

Will transportation be provided for the wedding day?

Answer

Yes. We will be coordinating complimentary transportation for all guests on the wedding day to ensure easy and safe travel to and from the venue. Pickup locations and times will be shared closer to the date. You are welcome to drive your rental car but be advised that parking at the venue is limited.

Question

Do I Need an International Driver’s Permit to Drive in Sicily?

Answer

Yes — if you plan to drive in Sicily or anywhere in Italy, we strongly recommend obtaining an International Driving Permit (IDP) before your trip. Italian law technically requires U.S. travelers to carry an IDP along with their valid driver’s license when driving. While enforcement can vary, some rental car companies may request it, and having one can help avoid issues in the event of a traffic stop or accident. You can obtain an IDP through AAA before traveling. Be sure to bring both your IDP and your regular driver’s license with you. https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html

Question

Should I still rent a car?

Answer

You do not need a car for the wedding day itself, but a rental car is helpful if you want to explore Sicily during your stay.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

September in Sicily is warm and sunny, typically 75–85°F (24–29°C) with cooler evenings. A light wrap is recommended for outdoor portions.

Question

What can we do during our stay?

Answer

Sicily offers Mt. Etna wine tasting, Taormina beaches, boat trips, historic towns, scenic hikes, and amazing food. Visit the Things To Do tab for our top recommendations.

Question

What's the best way to get to Taormina?

Answer

While Taormina is only about 30 kilometers from Linguaglossa, driving up to the town center is not for the faint of heart. Hairpin turns, large tour buses and lots of traffic make for a stressful experience. And parking is at a high premium. Instead, head to the Taormina-Giardini train station in Giardini-Naxos. From there you can catch a taxi or take the bus (Interbus) which will drop you in the town center and takes 10-15 minutes.
