In 8th grade Nic was on the wrestling team and Mikayla was on the cheerleading team. When Mikayla was walking in the hallway to the bathroom, Nic was passing by leaving the wrestling room. Nic stopped Mikayla by placing his arm infront of her on the wall and asked her to be his girlfriend.

Nic asked Mikayla to be in his TikTok video where she would be reacting to a "funny video" she reluctantly agreed (if you know Mikayla she hates being in videos). He told her that there would be a meme on Leia'a instagram, where she should just show her genuine reaction. He had Leia sit next to Mikayla on the couch with her back facing the camera. The instagram post was a picture of the ring on Leia's nose with the caption "will you marry my dad?". Mikayla cried and said "yes!"
