Our story is pretty similar to Troy and Gabriella's... while we happened to meet at a JV football game instead of at NYE karaoke, the ending was the same: the high school athlete fell hard for a bookworm. After getting my cell phone number from a mutual friend our senior year of high school, Jacob picked me up from my parents' house in his loud purple truck for our first date. He sang along to the Jesse McCartney CD that blared from his speakers and I had a sneaky suspicion that I was going to like him more than I'd originally planned. From there, many "study dates" followed. I attempted to tutor Jacob in AP Biology, but all I could seem to keep him interested in was the chemistry... Eventually, we parted ways for college, but it turns out that 200 miles weren't enough to keep us apart. We made the best of the long-distance and it only made moving back to Kansas City that much sweeter. Fast-forward a year of living with our parents, and we finally got to move in together when Jacob bought a house in May of 2020. We've loved making it a home, together, and simply cannot wait to tie the knot in June. When we ~finally~ say "I do," we hope you'll be just as excited as we are to celebrate the 8 years we've been together, and the many more to come. Cheers! -Mikayla
