Like so many couples these days, we are a Hinge (dating app) Success Story that started in April 2019. We had our first date at a charming Italian restaurant patio (A Mano) in Hayes Valley in San Francisco. There, we found we shared similar tech careers and aspirations, a love for the show The Office, an obsession with foodie culture and travel, and an eagerness to some day have a dog. It took us 3 months to go on 3 dates because of our busy schedules. By the third date, a bike ride and picnic in Golden Gate Park, we had both turned our dating apps off and agreed we'd found something special. Three years (and one Pandemic) later in that very same spot in Golden Gate Park, Mike proposed. He surprised Allie by flying in her parents from Cleveland to celebrate the engagement with our collective families and sealed the deal with a wine country party-bus the next day. So much of our relationship grew during quarantine, and we look back with gratitude for how it gave us quality time to focus on what matters (and bonded our Bay Area Q-Crew!). We made do with distanced park days, Zoom-holidays and virtual game nights, and eventual "friend tours" and trips to Cleveland to ensure we knew the people who helped shape us both over the years. Our friends and family mean the world to us and we so look forward to taking this next step together with all of you!
