We're getting married!

We met briefly a few times in and after college, without ever really registering each other. In June 2017, we finally listened to our wonderful mutual friend, Erin, and let her set us up. Sitting around a firepit in Sam's parents backyard, Erin sent Mikey Sam's number and the rest is history. A few days of texting back and forth followed. Mikey planned a fun late date at Earl's, and we bonded over our love of cider and the Lion King. We walked and laughed around Assembly Row for four hours. We finally realized the time after midnight (pretty much lunchtime for us as we were both working nights), and Mikey walked Sam back to her car to depart with a "gentlemanly" hug. We both texted Erin that night to let her know just how fun and easy it was.

Oh boy. This one's a doozy. But just for Mikey, because the Quinns are special that way. Mikey was planning to ask, and picked out a beautiful ring with his parents' help. Sam started a new nursing job that no longer required her to work weekends, and she decided to plan a spur of the moment trip to DC to visit her best friend, Kate, on a weekend Mikey was **supposed** to work. Sam spent a few days laughing and reminiscing with her old friend, and Mikey "checked in from the cruiser" a few times. Meanwhile, back in MA, Mikey planned to ask Sam's parents' permission. Sam's parents decided to go to Jamaica. Not last minute or spur of the moment, but Mikey forgot. So he needed to wait until they landed. He called Sam's youngest brother, Andrew, and made a plan. He would meet the Quinns Saturday morning at their home, the day after they returned from their trip. Mikey drove to Holden, picked up Dunkins' coffee to share, and pulled into the driveway. He walked to the door, knocked, and no one was home. The doors were locked. He called Andrew (who is in college and "unavailable" on a Saturday morning). No answer. He called his parents to update them. He finally reached Brian, Sam's other brother, who told him the Quinns got delayed in Miami. He pulled out of the driveway, and immediately got pulled over by a cop for looking suspicious in the neighborhood. Luckily, he did not get arrested, and moved on to call Mr. Quinn at the airport to ask permission over the phone. Finally, Sam landed at Logan, and Mikey called "from the cruiser," but got "called away to work". Sam called her Mom, who is apparently a fantastic liar. Sam arrived home, and saw Mikey's car in the driveway. Sam's mom convinced her that Mikey must be very very sick. Sam walked in the house to find votive candles lining the counters, flowers, Champagne, ice cream, Murph, and Mikey down on one knee. A rendition of "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" was playing as Mikey asked "Can I keep you forever?"
