It all began in July 2013 when Mike and Amanda joined their Birthright trip to Israel and became close friends. During their 10 day trip, they both liked each other, but nothing came of it. Mike went back to Baltimore and Amanda went to Miami, but after an attractive job offer to move to Miami, Mike knew he could trade in the winter jackets for swim trunks. With frequent visits to Miami, Mike and Amanda became very close and Amanda helped with his transition into a new city. After moving in March 2014, they became best friends, hanging out all the time. After countless dinners, holidays, nights out, kickball and golf, everyone assumed they were already a couple. After years of growing an incredible friendship, Mike and Amanda decided to begin dating....it was the best decision they ever made!

On a random Wednesday evening after work, Amanda got home expecting to have a family dinner with Jeff and Mike, when she got a completely different surprise! She walked in late, tupperware in hand, a sloppy bun in her hair and not expecting a thing. Upon opening the door, their song, "Love you like I'm gunna lose you" began playing on the speakers in the apartment. Mike was waiting for Amanda on the balcony, overlooking Brickell and waved for her to join him. After standing in shock for a few minutes, which must've felt like eternity to Mike, she joined him outside. He immediately got down on one knee, telling her how much he loved her, while Mike's brother Jeff snapped pictures from the other end of the balcony. Of course, without hesitation, Amanda said 'yes' and was overwhelmed with happiness! Mike had a custom cake made for the engagement which included Franklin, Amanda and 'Monkey' proposing. It was absolute perfection. It was the happiest day of both of their lives to date and they can't wait to make it official with their closest family and friends in December!
