Long, beautiful, family friendly beach, with nearby food kiosks offering local treats and food. - Mar Chiquita: 45 minutes outside San Juan. 1. Visit one of the lechoneras or Haciendas (coffee/cocoa plantation) on the island. A lechonera is a restaurant specializing in roasted suckling pig (lechón) cooked on a spit, often served with traditional sides. Many of the most popular ones are located in Cayey. For an immersive coffee tour experience, you may have to venture into Puerto Rico's lush mountain region. 2. Rent a chinchorreo bus. In Puerto Rico, chinchorrear is when you get a group of friends together and go on a road trip into the mountains or along the coast, stopping at different restaurants and bars to grab a bite and a drink. 3. Take a salsa class. Check out salsatourpr on instagram. Sunset salsa class offered 7 days a week at Ocean Park Beach. For reservations: check link in instagram bio or call 1-787-913-7032 4. Museums. Walking tour of Old San Juan, el Morro, or Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. Those are just a few examples. 5. Go visit a coffee hacienda. There are a few on the island and learn about how coffee is made.

We recommend going to Calle San Sebastián in Old San Juan. Lots of bars on that street. One of our favorites is La Factoria. Great drinks, and 5 rooms with each offering a different vibe. Los Hijos de Borinquen is another popular cocktail bar. La Placita in Santurce. Lots of bars and restaurants. La Calle Cerra. A short street in Santurce close to La Placita. Also has bars and restaurants. There are a couple of night clubs in some of the hotels as well. Brava in El Hotel San Juan and Fifty Eight in La Concha Hotel. Our suggestion when going out in Puerto Rico is to uber to and from places. Please don't walk from La Placita area to your airbnb even if it is close.
