We met at the grocery store. And after seeing each other a few times, we decided to get to know one another. We had absolutely nothing In common. We were literally like night and day. I think the thing we found that we had the most in common is the love for peace and harmony with nature.

...of dating we decided to go on a hike in the mountains. I just knew we would see such a great sunset! Eric revealed partway through that he had brought a hammock that he had never used before. I had never used a hammock either! We got to work right away to set it up not too far from the path. Since we were amateurs at setting up a hammock, the sun was setting by the time we finished the hammock. We decided to get in the hammock together and watch the pretty colors of the sky through the trees. We fell asleep in the hammock to the sound of the breeze and awoke to find that it was dark outside. Instead of being scared, we laughed to each other and resolved to leave the hammock behind for the night while we made our way back. I think love protected us. -Dontinai

EM Personal Journal (8/2018)

One of our favorite memories is following a friend's advice and searching for a local spring. Apparently there are all sorts of natural water sources all over the state (since there are so many caves). We found an active underground spring about an hour outside of town. We would take weekend trips to collect the water and eventually founded a business to bottle and sell spring water. It was one of our most ambitious endeavors. Unfortunately the water business didn't work out (so many regulations!) but we just keep flowing, years later. Like water!

We have raised 6 cats (and fostered 7 until they've found homes). We have also had 1 chinchilla (RIP Tigger) and a turtle over the years. Every cat has come with it's challenges, but it's nothing we can't overcome if we work together!
