By now many of you have heard the tale that movie studios and film directors alike are fighting over. A tale of young love, spontaneity and multiple one way plane tickets. On the off chance that you are unfamiliar with this story, we have provided the details below to ensure you truly understand the magic you are being asked to witness on October 13th 2023. A couple of months after packing up his car and moving from Los Angeles to Denver, Peter found himself single in a new city with only one thing on his mind…Golf. One Saturday afternoon before a tee time with the boys, Peter thought he'd sneak in 9 holes, because why not? Peter was a lone single that was paired with a lovely couple that snuck in their own cooler of beer to a course that would coincidentally lose their liquor license months later for something similar. On the 8th hole after a few beers and even more laughs, the woman asked Peter if he was single as she had a daughter of a similar age that she believed Peter would enjoy meeting. Within an instant, the mother of the bride had taken a picture of Peter, given her daughter's phone number to a complete stranger and encouraged him to call her that day. That evening (august 2nd), Peter crafted a text message to the daughter that was so ingeniously witty and charming, it was hard for the girl (Mikelle) to not fall in love with him sight unseen, let alone say no to a first date. Mikelle had recently decided that she didn't have anything holding her down in Denver and she needed a change of scenery. She was planning to move to Hawaii at the end of August in search of greener pastures and a new start. All the going away parties were planned, goodbyes were said and flights were booked…and then she received the text that would change everything. Our first date was August 5th 2020 at Homegrown Tap and Dough in wash park (suburb of Denver). We went on 15 more dates before the end of the month and then had to decide if this relationship was worth pursuing, fighting for and changing plans for. On the evening before Mikelle was set to depart for Hawaii permanently… We broke up. 12 hours later Peter decided that a life in Denver without the person that was very clearly his soulmate was not a life worth living. So he broke his lease, packed his bags and flew out to be with Mikelle in Hawaii. They lived between Airbnb's and the home of Mikelle's gregarious brother for 3 months until deciding to move back to Denver. They spent the next two months living with yet another gracious friend of Mikelle's until they bought a townhome through the greatest realtors in Denver…Her mother and step father (Suz & Jimmy). On August 5th 2022, while Mikelle was out grabbing a drink with her friend, Peter scattered one thousand rose petals up four flights of stairs and lugged a harp up just as many. When Mikelle returned home she followed the roses up to the roof where a harpist was playing her favorite song and Peter was waiting on one knee. Since you're reading this on a wedding website, the rest of the evening should be self-explanatory. We hope you get to celebrate with us on this momentous occasion… but if you can't, just send money ;)
