Maid of Honor
I once tried to explain what my sister was like to someone, and the only adjective I could think of to describe Tay was "Tay." She's my best friend and the best sister I could ever ask for.
Best Man
PJ is my oldest brother. We met on my day of birth back in '93, and he's always been a significant part of my life. I know that he will play an active role in helping me become the husband I should be to Mikela.
Bridesmaid
Beautiful sister, beautiful photographer. She’s the curly-haired, pint-sized girl you’ll see running around capturing photos.
Groomsman
Apart from him being my second oldest brother, I know Drew as the best bassist I have ever played with, hands down. Not to mention he is also one of my best friends.
Bridesmaid
A journal entry from the second time we ever hung out: “I believe God put Selina in my life to be a great friend. After coffee on Wednesday, I had the thought that she'd be a bridesmaid in my wedding (keep in mind, Shon and I weren't even together yet at this time). I don't know what His plan is for our friendship, but I believe He wanted us to meet each other, and we're going to impact each other's lives in a big way."
Groomsman
I met Danny on one of my first trips to Switzerland, and we have been friends ever since. Our friendship was solidified for life when he spent 7 weeks living with us in the US during his Breakthrough internship.
Bridesmaid
My housemate sophomore year of college. We were the worst at choosing movies to watch and the best at having emotional conversations about whatever was happening in our lives.
Groomsman
You can't buy your friends, but you can hire them! I first met Jesse when he came to my booth at a career fair. A few weeks later, we were working in the same office and our friendship grew through the sharing of memes, funny videos and Caribou trips on our lunch breaks.
Bridesmaid
We joke around that I’m marrying her brother so that we can hang out all the time and no one will think it’s weird. She started calling me "Aunt Mikela" before Shon and I were even engaged, and she shares her bedroom with me when I spend the night.
Groomsman
They say you don’t get to choose your family, and that's true, but I could not have picked any better myself. Dan man is the best little (BIG) brother that anybody could ask for! I am thankful that he was born into my life, because he has made it more entertaining ever since!
Bridesmaid
I met Libby back in 4th grade. From Tuesday mall trips and sleepovers every night to trying to keep up with each other through the busyness of college and full-time work, we've remained best friends. We went on a 5 week long trip abroad last winter, and didn't get sick of each other once.
Groomsman
This guy walked into my life 7 years ago and we have been best friends ever since. I buy food and he eats it.
Bridesmaid
Coworker turned BFF. We met a couple of years ago and bonded over boys, Jesus, and lots of Culver’s ice cream.
Groomsman
I met Connor through his lovely sister (my bride-to-be) when we started spending more time together with each others' families. Our friendship started with a joke about a dog and it has continued growing ever since!
Bridesmaid
The younger sister who got married first. She's the Youth Director from our proposal story, and the mom to our nephews coming this summer!
Groomsman
Tyler walked into my life at a fateful Breakthrough concert one weekend when my sister must have been in her prime musical performance. I knew that his interest in the band had nothing to do with my creative drum skills, but our lead singer Catherine. One thing lead to another, and now they're married and pregnant with twins!
Bridesmaid
My very first friend at Hamline University. At our traditional brunch two summers ago, we imagined our future weddings and who we'd have as bridesmaids. At that same brunch one summer later, I asked her to walk down the aisle with me.
Groomsman
William is the Medin brother that we all needed to come into the family. We met him a long time ago at a church in Northfield that we used to attend. We all connected with him instantly, and the friendship grew into him being the brother that he is today. He kept my head above water after half of the family moved to Switzerland so that I wouldn’t get overwhelmed with college, the farm work and family responsibilities. He kept me laughing and made sure that at the end of the day that I was okay. I will always need him in my life and I am thankful that he has been a part of it!
