One of our greatest wishes for our wedding is to have an intimate night with only our closest friends and family, so we will be having a small guest count. For that reason, we will not be able to accommodate any plus ones that are not specified on your invitation or when you RSVP.
While we love your children, we want to allow all of guests (including the parents!) an evening of relaxation and celebration, so we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!
The dress code is formal; so anywhere from tuxes to suits, and gowns to dressy cocktail dresses. But most importantly, we encourage you to have fun with it and dress in "spring colors" (more below)! See this helpful guide below if more help is needed: https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire
Thanks for asking! We encourage spring colors; think blue, green, yellow, lavender, etc. and we also encourage our guests to go bold and fashionable with your attire. Caroline in particular, would feel no greater honor than having all guests feeling their best making a grand, fashionable statement. Obviously don't wear white, but if you want your "How to lose a guy in 10 days" moment, go for it. As Caroline would say "embrace your own personal expression". We do not have a room block. However, the bride and groom and many family members will be staying at Le Meridien Essex in Chicago and we invite you to stay in this hotel as well, as it is directly next door to the reception venue. PLEASE SEE THE "TRAVEL" TAB FOR A SPECIAL HOTEL RATE AND MORE TRAVEL DETAILS
Chicago in May is going to be a bit of a gamble. We would bet it will be chilly in the 40's-50's at night and a refreshing 50's-60's in the day. It is likely you will need a coat for any outdoor events and activities. Rest assured that cocktail hour and the reception will be comfortably indoors. (The ceremony location is still TBD but it is possible this will be outside)
We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree, which will be determined later and will need selected when you RSVP.
You bet there will be. And in exchange, we expect you out on the dance floor with us. :)
Details have yet to be determined but it is our great hope to keep the party going, so I'd plan on it. Check back later for more information.
We will exclusively be managing RSVPs through our website; it is more eco-friendly! We invite you to RSVP online via the "RSVP" tab above by April 12th, 2024.
