Things To Do

These are some places we enjoy around town. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like any specific recommendations!

Satchel's Pizza

1800 Northeast 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609
, (352) 335-7272

A really fun and funky (cash-only) pizza place! Their salad is killer, the shop (filled with nostalgic toys) is a ton of fun, and the garden is adorable.

Las Margarita's

4405 Northwest 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606
, (352) 374-6699

Delicious Mexican food!

MOJO Hogtown Bar-B-Que

12 Southeast 2nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601
, (352) 727-7871

Also a whiskey bar, Mojo's got some pretty tasty barbecue!

Taste

4860 Northwest 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606
, (352) 372-8686

Yummy Pan-Asian food. The wonton soup is one of my favorites.

Flying Biscuit

4150 Northwest 16th Boulevard, Gainesville, FL 32605
, (352) 373-9500

Tasty breakfast! The grits are delicious.

Daybreak Pleasant Street

308 Northwest 5 Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601
, (352) 792-6773

More delicious breakfast! Cute tiny place with local coffee.

Kilwin's

4949 Celebration Pointe Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32607
, (352) 271-1060

Fudge and ice cream!

First Magnitude Brewing Company

1220 Southeast Veitch Street, Gainesville, FL 32601
, (352) 727-4677

A fun local brewery.

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens

4700 Southwest 58th Drive, Gainesville, FL 32608
, (352) 372-4981

A bit of a drive, but beautiful gardens.

Florida Museum of Natural History

3215 Hull Road, Gainesville, FL 32611
, (352) 846-2000

This museum is lovely, and always has something interesting on display. The Butterfly Rainforest is awesome!

Devil's Millhopper

4732 Millhopper Road, Gainesville, FL 32653
, (352) 955-2008

A geological state park, Devil's Millhopper is a looped trail surrounding a sinkhole! You can walk down the full 120 feet and see a mini rainforest. Coming back up all those stairs is rough, be warned.

Sweetwater Wetlands Park

325 Southwest Williston Road, Gainesville, FL 32601
, (352) 393-8520

Sweetwater is a manmade wetlands designed to improve the water quality of Florida's aquifer as well as providing vital habitat to native species. It's a beautiful park, great for walks!
