Our Story

It all started in 2018, freshman year at Bryant University, in a macroeconomics class.

That’s when Ange first saw Mike, handsome smile, blue eyes, and all. Naturally, she hoped he’d sit near her…and he did. Right in front of her. The perfect view, and her lowest grade in college. Coincidence? Probably not. Ange began timing her arrivals to class just after Mike so she could walk by his seat and say hi. The next move? “Studying” - Ange’s clever way to get his number. She’d prep before their sessions so she could “teach” him the material. At one point, Mike told his roommate, “I don’t think she knows what she’s doing.” For the next couple of years, they stayed friends. Ange would text on his birthday, suggest hangouts, and quietly keep that crush alive. Junior year, she finally asked him to get ice cream. Mike’s reply? “I don’t like sweets.” Ouch. That summer, fate stepped in. Both had internships in the city, and after a few texts, Mike agreed to dinner and fishing in Seaport. It was gloomy and rainy, Mike picked Ange up from work and gave her his sweatshirt. A clear sign it was a date…at least to her. Their first fishing spot got shut down by police, and the restaurant was closed, but somehow it all felt meant to be. They found another spot and stayed out in the rain, Ange getting Mike’s new fishing line stuck (she swore it was a fish). Mike dropped her off afterward, thinking they’d just hung out as friends. Ange thought it was more. Senior year, everything aligned. They lived across from each other on campus, and the first night back, Mike saw Ange talking with friends. Something clicked. Soon they were spending all their time together. Before they were officially dating, Mike invited her on a seven-hour drive to the Naval Academy to meet his sister. On the way home, Mike asked Ange to help pick flowers and chocolate “for his mom," then handed them to her instead. October 3, 2021: the day everything officially began. From then on, everything just felt easy. Ange quickly realized Mike’s gestures: offering his sweatshirt, opening doors, weren’t for show. That’s simply who he is. Thoughtful, kind, the guy who bakes cornbread for his mom just to say thank you. And Ange leads with the same heart. She’s the type who teaches herself material just to help someone else study, and who stayed fishing in the rain not because she loved it, but because she knew it made Mike happy. They both find joy in making others smile, in both big and small ways. After graduating just three spots apart in 2022, they continued to love life together living in different towns but filling weekends with hiking, cooking, concerts, and yes, more fishing. Whether grocery shopping or sitting in traffic, everything’s better together. On February 28, 2025, Mike proposed on Mayflower Beach, a special place where they’d shared countless sunsets. Ange had a hunch the proposal was coming that year, but not in winter. When she spotted a photographer, she pointed it out; Mike, trying to keep his cool, said, “We should turn around. It’s not happening today.” Seconds later, he took her hand and said, “It’s happening,” then got down on one knee. Ange was so shocked she screamed, “Oh my gosh, what is happening?!” before finally saying yes. Only their parents knew, so they spent hours calling family and friends, soaking in everyone’s reactions. That night, Mike surprised her with dinner at Yarmouth House, where they’ve celebrated many special moments. That day will forever live in their hearts. This past May, they moved in together in Bridgewater, MA, where they spend their days cooking, laughing, and building a home. They’ve fallen in love with the simple joys, visiting local farms, creating new recipes, taking evening walks, and just doing life side by side. They feel incredibly lucky their paths crossed at Bryant University. From classmates to friends, to study partners, to soulmates it’s been a journey full of laughter, and love. They can’t wait to celebrate with all their favorite people and begin this next chapter, together.
