Mike: I met Trista for the first time in October of 2018. We connected with each other on a dating app (as is commonplace in this day and age). We decided to meet for a date at O'dwyers. The 1st thing I noticed about Trista was her beautiful smile & green eyes. We sat & talked for hours & I knew right away she was special. We went on a 2nd date the very next day & have been together ever since. I'm so grateful to have met such a kind, thoughtful & beautiful woman. She brings out the best in me & together we've already accomplished so much. I can't imagine my life without Trista in it. Trista: I get a bit nervous meeting new people. Arranging our first date left me excited & anxious. When I walked into O'dwyers I had a stream of thoughts. "What if our date is filled with awkward silences & we have nothing in common?" As I took my seat across from Mike he flashed me a warm & reassuring smile that instantly set me at ease. I needn't have worried about uncomfortable pauses in conversation. Mike won me over with his sharp wit, good looks, sense of humor & easy going disposition. Over the course of the evening we discovered we had much in common. Many mutual acquaintances & friends of friends. It also came to light that we shared the same childhood zip code, both spending our younger years in Riverton, WY. I told Mike details of the neighborhood I grew up in & about a tree I loved to climb. Mike was quite familiar with my tree & block because as it turns out my house was part of his paper route! I always smile a little, & wonder if a young Mike & Trista ever saw each other from afar. Me climbing my tree or walking to Sunset Park. Mike zooming around on his bike with his gaggle of friends. Not knowing our paths would, for years, circle but not quite meet as we navigated childhood then early adulthood. Each growing & learning, becoming the people we are today. Until our paths finally collided & we could walk together as one. Finding Mike was like finally coming home.
