Sydney - We met at a party in 2015. I spent nearly the whole time with him as we shared stories and sips of *redacted*, laughing and planning when we could see each other again. I opted for the next day, 8 AM sharp. He was busy. On our first date we got in a car accident. I can still picture Mike's hands resting on the top of the car, his watch glinting in the setting, summer sun. I was never one to believe in love at first sight, but even then, I already knew that I was done for. I closed my eyes to blink and 8 sparkling years went by. When I opened them again he was on his knee on Battery Spencer in SF, telling me "Today's the day!" And it sure was. Mike - I still vividly remember that party where we first met. I had no business being there, and yet Sydney enthusiastically talked to me for hours on end. Talking to Sydney was unlike talking to anyone else I knew. I was hooked. And throughout the past 8 years, we’ve continued to have joyous talks with the same, if not more, energy. The content may have changed to talks of our hopes and dreams for the future, but those talks have only solidified in my mind the fact that Sydney is my confidant, complementary half, my partner, and my future wife.
