Matron of Honor
Drew and I became friends when we were in 7th grade at Paulding Middle School and have stayed incredibly close through college, law school my move to Hawaii and back again! We share a love for outdoor activities, champagne and the tv show friends. Drew is my very best friend and I am so honored that she will stand beside me on the big day! Drew lives in Sacramento with her husband Nick Kump and works as an environmental lawyer.
Bridesmaid
Jamie is my sorority sister and dear friend, we met our freshmen year at Cal when we joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. We were roommates our senior year and I'm still not sure I've recovered from all the fun we had. We lived near each other in SF while I was in law school and shared many a dinner party and city outing. Jamie lives in Walnut Creek with her husband Jeff and sweet daughter Serafina and its so wonderful having them so close.
Bridesmaid
Destiny was my first and very best friend in Hawaii. Our relationship began on twitter, graduated to email and then we met in person. We hit if off immediately and took tennis lessons together, enjoyed Sundays at polo and weekends camping at the beach. We've shared a lot of memorable and big moments together over the last 6 years and I'm so happy she'll be by my side on our big day. Destiny lives in Honolulu with her husband Mark who is one of Mike's groomsmen!
Bridesmaid
Rachel has been a member of my family since she began dating my brother Jake over eight years ago. They got engaged in September of 2017 (!!!) and I could not be more thrilled that Rachel is going to be my sister. She is fun, creative, and loving and could not imagine my family without her in it. Rachel and Jake live in Campbell and she works at SAGE veterinary hospital. I feel very lucky that she and my brother are going to stand with us on our big day!
Bridesmaid
Suzanne (Suzy) and I met in middle school and bonded during volleyball practice and lunches in Mr. Smalls classroom. We have been great friends ever since. Suzy is hilarious, spontaneous and we share a love of cats. She and her husband Travis asked me to officiate their wedding which was an honor and a joy and I am so glad to have Suzy stand my my side on my big day. Suzanne and Travis (and their cats!) live in Lodi.
Sarah's Parents
Eve and Sean Devine are Sarah's parents. They live in Arroyo Grande with their three horses, two dogs and five cats. Eve enjoys spending her time riding her horses, doing agility with her dog Ranger and enjoying the central coast. Sean enjoys volunteering his time at Arroyo Grande High school and Cal Poly Football games, freediving at the channel islands and playing golf. They are so excited to celebrate Mike and Sarah with you on the central coast.
Best Man
As you have no doubt deduced by the shared last name, Nick is my brother. What you may not know is that he is awesome. As kids we were always close, spending many an hour adventuring up and down the creek at home or hanging out well beyond the regular hours of our rec swim team practice. We were fortunate enough to be at Cal at the same time where Nick furthered his swimming career. Following University, while i was living abroad, Nick was also traveling representing New Zealand at swimming competitions around the world. Despite the time apart and the rigorous demands of international swimming, we have remained close over the years and I am extremely grateful for that.
Groomsman
Looking back, Marc and I spent an incredible amount of time together while we were at Cal. Not only were we teammates on the water polo team but we lived together for the majority of our time there. Amongst all the other shenanigans, we even managed to get away with a mid-semester trip to Munich for Oktoberfest. Don’t worry, our grades didn’t suffer. Our post Cal lives have taken us (and our Lederhosen) in very different directions. Marc, after working in DC and earning his masters in public health from Carnegie Melon, ended up in Minneapolis with is fantastic wife Karen while I explored the Pacific and landed back in the Bay Area with Sarah last year. Despite the decade that we have spent so far apart, every time we’re in the same place we're able to pick up where we left off Love it
Groomsman
Fist off let’s set something straight. This man has far too much personality to be called simply Mike or Michael. To me, he will always be Jafari (and frankly, there’s only room for one Mike in this celebration). Jafari was another original member of the Dana house and we lived together for the majority of our time at Cal. He features prominently in nearly every college story that I can think of and I can’t imagine that experience without him. He now runs a badass swim team in Southern California, Max Aquatics, and he and his wife Shannon live in Whittier with their dog adorably large labradoodle puppy Deeoji.
Groomsman
Mark and truly became friends after I moved to Hawaii, however we initially met thanks to Sarah and Destiny when he stayed with me in Sydney while in transit to Tasmania. Despite our friendship thus far being the same age as a toddler, Mark has been one of the most honest and loyal friends anyone could ask for and I consider myself lucky to count him as one of my closest friends. In Hawaii we enjoyed fishing and brewing beer (though I mostly just tried to absorb as much of his seemingly endless knowledge on those topics as possible). Mark still lives in Hawaii with his wife Destiny despite our efforts to sell them on joining us in Northern California. I for one am not giving up just yet,
Groomsman
Jake is Sarah’s younger brother and he and I area really just starting our friendship but let me tell you, I am looking forward to counting him as a brother. From the moment I met him Jake has been very welcoming, inclusive and fun. So far I have learned that we make pretty decent golf partners, he puts on a mean fireworks show and he is always up for a challenge. Jake lives in Campbell with his fiancée Rachel (whom you have doubtless already read about) and we are lucky enough to see them and their charming Australian Shepherd Ollie. Unfortunately Simba the cat doesn't travel so we sell a bit less of him but love him just as much as the rest anyhow. I am honored to count Jake as one of my groomsmen and am looking forward to being a part of the family for many years to come.
