The Beginning

Sometimes what you're looking for comes when you're not looking at all...

As most of you already know, the way Mike & Nikki met was rather unconventional yet very 21st century, neither were looking for a relationship; in fact they had pretty much given up on finding love and were each content with what they already had in life. They were two very different people with one major thing in common, a very persistent & stubborn friend who saw the potential between the two of them and wouldn't take no for an answer. So one day that very persistent friend decided to start a group text to introduce them. Mike quickly started his own text apologizing for their friend, but no apology was needed as Nikki could always hold her own. Over the next couple months the two of them got to know each other over the phone until they finally went out on their first date at Millers Ale House. In fact they were having such a good time together they closed the place down. Mike says that was the night he knew Nikki was the one for him, but even so, it still took him another couple of months to make their relationship official.

The Proposal

2/19/2021

The proposal was definitely one to remember. Nikki thought it was going to be a weekend in Savannah, GA with Mike and their two friends, celebrating her birthday. But little did she know, Mike had BIG, BIG PLANS (iykyk). They got to Savannah on Friday and spent the afternoon walking around River Street. When it was time to for dinner, they went to their room to get ready. The weather was a lot cooler than Florida so Mike decided that they should go for a quick walk to make sure he didn't have to break out his big camo jacket. They walked through the squares of Savannah until they reached one of the only squares that didn't have a bum. (Fun fact, Savannah squares are filled with bums! But if you see one strolling along with Rick Ross playing from the mini boom box on his shoulder, say hey!) Next to Madison square they saw a church with gargoyles at the top of the building; well at least, Nikki swore they were gargoyles, Mike did not. So Nikki, determined to be right, pulled out her phone to google gargoyles, when she turned around to show her proof, Mike grabbed her hand and got down on one knee! Nikki was in shock, I mean she had been hearing about how fixing the Mud Jeep was first priority every time Mike was asked when he was going to propose. So naturally once she realized she was more important than the Jeep, she just HAD to say YES! <3
