One thing I (hi, it’s Nicole!) love to tell people is that Mike and I met through work - because Mike was hired as my boss! While completely true, the shock factor makes it so much more fun to share. Over the years, we quickly developed a friendship and a connection that, although unspoken, was always there. It wasn’t until about six years later - after a couple of promotions and, importantly, no risk of any HR violations - that we finally blurred the line between coworkers and something more. It started when I nervously but giddily asked Mike to be my date to a dear friend’s wedding - he said yes and flew out to Chicago to join me. I like to think it was a sweet little weekend of foreshadowing… as this is our wedding website, after all ;) <3 Even though I lived in the suburbs of Chicago and Mike lived in New York, the distance didn’t stand a chance. A year and a half later, we packed up our lives and moved to Austin, where we could finally call the same place home. And now, all these years after Mike was first hired as my boss, we get to marry our very best friend. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
