One night during the summer heat wave, Michelle was miserable because she had no A/C. She decided to get on Facebook dating to distract herself, which was unusual because Michelle hated online dating. She viewed profile, after profile, and hit, "X, X, X..." But then, she came to Mike's profile, and she noticed he was a police officer, and a Christian. She wasnt' sure if she should hit X or the <3. She said, "God, I don't know." And then she looked at his profile again and saw that he had, "Act Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly, Micah 6:8." And that really stood out to her because she felt like God had put that on her heart recently, to care about justice for those who can't speak for themselves. So, she set her phone down and prayed about it. She walked away into another room, and when she was walking back, she saw on her desk, in a wedding stone picture frame, "Do Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly, Micah 6:8." Michelle had originally bought that wedding stone picture frame, believing that she would never find a man to marry, but God loved her, and so she placed scriptures in it to represent her love with God. Every day she would change the scripture, so when she saw Micah 6:8 staring at her, she felt like it was a sign. She immediately went to her phone, picked it up, and "hearted," Mike's profile. About 30 minutes later, he messaged her, and they started messaging back and forth. They talked on the phone for 31.5 hours before their first date, and before they even met, they both felt in their hearts, "I could marry this person."
Michelle was sitting in her apartment, working on her computer, when she heard a noise at the door. All of a sudden, Mike walked in, in his police uniform, and Michelle instantly thought, "He's going to propose to me." Mike then said, "Do you know you are the hardest person to surprise?" And he asked Michelle to accompany him to a secret location. He then asked her to put a blindfold on, and said, "Don't worry about your vocal lesson, I already called and told them you wouldn't be going." And then Mike said that he was taking Michelle to a private vocal lesson, in a secret location, for her birthday which was in 2 days. She then started to doubt that he was going to propose, and wondered, "maybe this really is for her birthday." She then said, "I'm not prepared, I don't know what to sing." Because Mike said that he was going to have Michelle sing on a stage with a microphone, just like she had always dreamed of. Then, Michelle wondered for the rest of the ride, what she would sing, and how nervous she was, but Mike told her not to worry because it would be empty. He then parked the car and guided Michelle inside. ***Note- he forgot to tell her to take a step when they were getting to the stage and she slightly tripped, but just a little.*** Then, he brought her on stage, and removed her blindfold. As soon as the blindfold was removed, Michelle felt overwhelmed, because she saw the cross in the corner, and realized she was at the church where she felt God tell her she would get married one day, before she even met Mike. Then, Mike got down on one knee, presented the ring, and asked Michelle to marry him. Shaking, and crying, Michelle said, "Yes!" Then, they kissed and hugged, and Michelle realized Mike had decorated the stage, which included a brand new GS mini Taylor guitar already tuned and plugged in. A microphone was set up as well. Michelle then sang and played some of her songs, in front of a banner that said, "Michelle, will you marry me?"
