What happens at the Office Christmas party stays at the Office Christmas party, right? Although we officially met when we started working at the same accounting firm in October 2015, we didn't really hit it off until a little free booze at the office Christmas party gave us the liquid courage to talk to each other. After that night we shared many date nights in Boston at some great restaurants and we knew we found something special, mostly because we had the same love of good food. After having to keep our relationship a secret to some for a year and a half because we worked together, we finally were able to become "Instagram & Facebook official". Four years later and we live in our first apartment together & continue to embrace our mutual love of food, wine, and travel, and we can't wait to spend forever doing so.

Michaela here- As most of you know by now, my father was born and raised in Italy where my family still lives today. In June, Mike joined my family for a 2 week vacation to Italy to visit my family where he got to experience the culture (and food of course) first hand. Little did I know, there was more to this trip than just pasta, pizza and delicious wine. On the third day of vacation we were being true tourists and sight-seeing all over Rome. After climbing the Spanish Steps in 90 degree heat, we headed to the Villa Borghese Gardens which is a special spot for my family because it has a great view of the city and one of our most beloved restaurants. When Mike asked my parents to take a picture of us I didn't argue because he never wants pictures! But then he started digging in his backpack for his water bottle because he was "thirsty" and in true fashion, I started complaining that I just wanted to take the picture and go eat lunch because I was sweaty and hangry. But when he pulled out a ring box from his backpack instead of a water bottle I finally understood what was happening and happily shut up! Next thing I knew Mike was on one knee with my family surrounding us in a place that already meant so much to me but now means even more.

Although we decided to postpone our big reception, we couldn't wait until next year to get married! We officially became Mr. & Mrs. Bousquet on our original date of October 3, 2020 in a small church ceremony. We can't wait to celebrate with you all on our one-year anniversary!
