Our Story

Our story began over text. This is the first message Mike ever sent to Mercedes. The Courtney referenced in the texts was a mutual connection of ours who grew up in Mercedes' hometown.

After about a month of hanging out we started officially dating on June 21, 2024. This is our first selfie together! Mike is into "safety first", Mercedes is into looking cool.

We celebrated Mike's 23rd birthday camping at Narrow Hills with friends! Highlights include: a sleepless night due to mosquitos buzzing in Mike's hammock, and for once Mercedes slept pretty well!

Mercedes said she wouldn't run with Mike until she could run a 5k, and whew! Look at that pace...

Mike finally convinced Mercedes to wear a helmet. Definitely a good call as we feared for our lives many times that day.

16 hour road trip for a 4 hour hike. We did not summit. But we did have fun.

10k in Waskesiu. A little bit of conflict was had over whether we should walk. We did.

XC skiing was our favourite wintertime hobby!

Because Mike's house is not conducive for romance, we opted for fast food restaurants instead. Our favourite is (and maybe always will be) Thien's. If you've never been, highly recommend!
