Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Maya Haigis and Michael McArdle
We're so grateful and excited that you're planning on traveling to Colorado! We absolutely love it here, and we know you will too. Friendly reminder to wear sunscreen, drink lots of water, and give your body time to adjust to the altitude, especially if you are planning on exerting yourself in higher altitudes :)

Denver Botanic Gardens

The Denver Botanic Gardens is a great spot to wander through beautiful gardens, enjoy peaceful paths, and soak up some nature in the city.

Colorado Rockies Game

Catch a Rockies game at Coors Field! If you arrive before first pitch, make sure to check out the Rooftop bar for $3 beers.

Boulder, CO

Boulder, CO

Boulder is a fun town with great restaurants, cute shops, and gorgeous mountain views. We love walking around Pearl Street, grabbing a bite at Avanti, and hiking (Chautauqua has lots of great trails). ~40 minutes north of Denver.

Estes Park, CO

Estes Park is a charming mountain town that's perfect for a day trip. Explore the shops, grab some tasty food, and take in the stunning Rocky Mountain views. ~1.5 hours north of Denver.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park is a must-see for incredible mountain views, scenic drives, and endless hiking trails. If you plan on visiting, we recommend making a reservation (we recommend the "Timed Entry+Bear Lake Road" reservation) here: https://www.recreation.gov/. Our favorite hikes are Sky Pond Trail (hard) and Nymph, Dream, Emerald, and Haiyaha Lakes via Nymph Lake Trail (moderate). ~1.5 hours north of Denver. Timed entry reservations for July will open on June 1st at 8AM MDT and fill up quickly.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Catch a concert or explore the park on one of the hiking trails. ~25 minutes west of Denver.

Golden, CO

Golden, CO

A historic town that is home to many restaurants, trailheads, river tubing, and Coors Brewery. Take a drive up to Lookout Mountain, where we took our engagement photos! ~25 minutes west of Denver.

Colorado Springs, CO

Spend a few hours exploring Garden of the Gods, take a drive or train up Pikes Peak, explore Manitou Springs, and, if you're up for a challenge, hike up the Manitou Incline. ~1.5 hours south of Denver.

Other Mountain Towns / Areas a Bit Farther from Denver

Summit County (Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge, Silverthorne), Winter Park, Vail (check out Piney River Ranch), Great Sand Dunes National Park, Aspen, Crested Butte, Steamboat Springs
