We are Getting Married

We first met in July of 2019. On our first date we met at the Bass Pro parking lot, which was a location in the middle of where we both lived. We had a great meal at White Fence Farm, enjoyed the company of some barn animals, played some mini golf (I let her win), and capped off the evening with drinks and great conversation. I don't think either of us anticipated this would turn out to be the beginning of both our next chapters! As Maribel always says, "she was pleasantly surprised" after the first date. The ever realist that she is - that was a lot for her to admit - LOL. Mike, on the other hand, the ever optimist, says he knew from that day forward. After months of dating, we realized we were spending most of our time together. We moved in together in January of 2020, expecting to enjoy getting to know each other's habits, moods, likes, dislikes etc. I guess the universe decided to force it on us because a pandemic hit. Bam! No learning curve, it was 24/7 for Mike, Maribel, 4 dogs, and lots of Scrabble every night. At this point we figured this would either make us or break us! Clearly it helped MAKE US! We knew that although we may drive each other a little crazy, that we were madly in love with each other. Maribel drives Mike crazy more (and she knows it)! In February of 2022, Mike proposed in a surprise fashion at Devil's Lake in Wisconsin on the middle of a frozen lake. Since we first met at the Bass Pro Store, Mike thought it was only fitting to ask Maribel to be his wife in the great outdoors. It was and absolute Yes...and the rest will continue to unfold. We are excited to celebrate with our families and friends as we enter this next phase in our commitment to each other.
