Question

Why are you getting married in Saugatuck?

Answer

As many of you know, Michael is originally from Michigan. He introduced this magical town to Marcelle several years ago and they have been coming back ever since. It holds a special place in their hearts and may even be called home one day. We appreciate you all traveling up here to share it with us!

Question

What is the Wickwood Inn?

Answer

Originally built in 1937, the Wickwood served as the family home of Frank Wicks, the mayor of Saugatuck. It is centrally located in downtown Saugatuck, just one block from the Chain Ferry that has crossed the Kalamazoo River since 1838. The Inn will serve as our home base for the weekend's festivities.

Question

Is there parking at The Wickwood Inn?

Answer

There is a small parking lot reserved for guests (ie US), but if it fills up, there is plenty of street parking as well.

Question

Will kids be allowed at the wedding?

Answer

While we can't wait to see all of the kiddos, we ask that the wedding and reception on June 10 be adults only. We can work with you to arrange child care for the evening.

Question

Can you help me find a babysitter?

Answer

Yes! Feel free to check out public sites like www.care.com and www.sittercity.com as a start, but we can also help find a local sitter.

Question

Is anything happening the day after the wedding?

Answer

We do not have anything official planned for the day after the wedding. However, we will be at the Wickwood Inn until check out time, so feel free to stop by if you're still in town!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We're praying to the rain gods that they will spare us and the weather will be beautiful. Historical average highs in June range from 72-80 degrees, but Michigan can be unpredictable, so we suggest packing layers.

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

The short answer is: if Mike gets drunk enough, he just might dance. The long answer is that the Wickwood Inn is located in a residential area, so our party there will need to wrap up by 10pm. However, we are a short walk away from all the bars and clubs in Saugatuck should we decide to continue the party!

Question

I am gluten-free, allergic to water, and pescatarian on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Can you accommodate me at dinner?

Answer

Of course! We will collect dietary restrictions in our invitations, but just let us know if there's anything in particular you can't eat so we make sure it stays off your plate.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

While we appreciate the gesture, we have everything we need, thanks in large part to Bonnie and her many casino wins. Your presence is our gift.

Question

Does Michael actually want to do this?

Answer

Yes! Contrary to the photo above, Michael is cooperating and we are both so excited to share this magical weekend with you.

Question

Will Michael stay awake past 9?

Answer

While we will do our best to ensure Michael has napped on the day of the wedding, we cannot make any guarantees that he will last past 9pm. However, Marcelle is prepared to get down until at LEAST midnight.

Question

Are you planning a honeymoon?

Answer

We're not sure yet! But if we do, we're really feeling Asia...
