It all started with a unique dating app called Hinge, which is designed to get people OFF the app and into a serious relationship. Which is interesting because Kayla never wanted to be on the app to begin with and rarely said yes to a date request…she was afraid of boys, duh! On the other hand Mike couldn’t stay off dating apps. He was busy trying to find a girl to settle down with. Depending on who you ask, you may get a different answer when it comes to who first pursued who. Kayla says Mike was the first to message her…Mike does not deny that fact, but says Kayla liked his photo first so he was just responding to her flirting with him. After exchanging texts and two attempts by Mike to actually get Kayla to go out with him…they met up for dinner at a local restaurant, where Mike says Kayla finally came up for air, after telling him her whole life story…Mike thought she was the cutest and most interesting girl he had ever met. The two were the last two to leave the restaurant that night, and it concluded with Mike asking Kayla if she was asking him on a second date… Which almost never happened, because Kayla said “who on earth asks someone on a second date to the beach?!” Kaylas mom, Joyce told her to GO! Reluctantly, and yes there is a photo circulating of the reluctancy of Kayla rolling her eyes…she went! It must of gone well, because Kayla ended up asking Mike to be her date to a wedding back in her hometown of Beaver, PA. He met her family and friends and the connection only grew stronger. That night, Kayla asked Mike “are you gonna ask me to be your girlfriend or what?” The rest of their time has been filled with the two becoming best friends, sharing hopes of being married, and dreaming of the possibility to start a family one day. The couple is over the moon excited to have the opportunity to be married in front of their closest friends and family; and can’t wait to add to what they believe…is just the beginning of their love story.
