We met in Baltimore, after school for Mike, and clinical for Kayla, at the Bun Shop. We grabbed coffees and strolled through Mount Vernon, circling the Washington Monument Park that would soon become a significant pillar in our relationship. It did not take long before Mike had Kayla riding gravel on the NCR, and Kayla had Mike running laps through Druid Hill Park. Our passion for the outdoors, humanitarian work, and cheap beer was just beginning to blossom. Once we graduated, Mike took a job with International Medical Corps (IMC) and soon began working remotely to make it possible to move across the country to Bisbee, AZ with Kayla, for her first Nurse Practitioner position with Chiricahua. And just like that we packed up and headed to Arizona, which was also Mike's first time in the southwest. We moved into our rural old mining town with a bit of uncertainty. But what we found was community, mountain biking, best friends, trail running, incredible job opportunities, a perfect pup, and challenges that have given us strength and grounding. In the past 4 years, we have grown individually and as a couple. We have built a home, a life, and a future together. We have climbed mountains and bombed down trails that we never could have imagined. Our life has flourished together and we are happy to share this life and love with all of you.
