Dress Code

Our dress code is Garden Formal. Suits and ties are perfect for men, while cocktail or floor-length dresses are ideal for women. Ladies, please note that the cocktail hour will take place on grass, so we recommend choosing footwear with that in mind.

Transportation

Answer

Transportation will be provided from the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell to the ceremony. The bus will depart promptly at 12:15 PM for the church. After the ceremony, buses will depart from the First Congregational Church in Essex at 3:30 PM to transport guests to Smith Farm Gardens for the reception. There will be a break between the ceremony and bus departure. Since both the hotel and reception venue are a distance from the church, we recommend staying in town during this time for the most seamless transportation experience. Looking for ways to spend the break? Check out the “Things To Do” page for some of our favorite local spots. At the conclusion of the reception, a shuttle will depart Smith Farm Gardens promptly at 10:15 PM for guests returning directly to the hotel. Guests who choose to attend the Silent Disco and post-reception gathering at a nearby bar may take the shuttle from the venue to the bar. Return transportation to the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell will depart from the bar shortly after 1:00 AM. This will be the final shuttle service of the evening. Please note that there will not be shuttle service between 10:15 PM and 1:00 AM.

There are parking lots available at both the First Congregational Church and Smith Farm Gardens. We’d love for you to relax and enjoy yourself, so if you plan on drinking, please make sure to arrange a designated driver for the ride home.
