Our dress code is Garden Formal. Suits and ties are perfect for men, while cocktail or floor-length dresses are ideal for women. Ladies, please note that the cocktail hour will take place on grass, so we recommend choosing footwear with that in mind.

Transportation

Answer

Transportation will be provided from the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell to the ceremony. The bus will depart promptly at 12:15 PM for the church. After the ceremony, buses will depart from the First Congregational Church in Essex at 3:30 PM to take guests to the reception venue. There will be a 90-minute break between the ceremony and bus departure. Since the hotel and venue are both a distance from the church, we highly recommend staying in town during this time for the most seamless transportation experience. The bus will return back to the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell after the reception at 10:15 PM.

There are parking lots available at both the First Congregational Church and Smith Farm Gardens. We’d love for you to relax and enjoy yourself, so if you plan on drinking, please make sure to arrange a designated driver for the ride home.
