Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all taking place at the ICONA Avalon in New Jersey.
June in Avalon is usually warm — in the 70s Fahrenheit during the daytime and a little cooler in the evening. The average sea temperature is about 67 degrees Fahrenheit.
We plan to have our ceremony outdoors on the beach, so don't forget your sunscreen! If the weather is uncooperative, the venue has a covered area to accommodate the ceremony.
The dress code for our wedding is beach cocktail attire. Ladies should wear semi-formal dresses or jumpsuits, and gentlemen should wear suits or nice shirts and slacks. We respectfully ask that guests do not wear shorts or flip-flops. Our ceremony will be on the beach, so please keep this in mind when choosing footwear!
Our bridal party will be wearing sky blue, in case people would like to avoid matching. We kindly request guests do not wear outfits that are primarily white or off-white (blush, champagne, cream, eggshell, ivory, et cetera), since these often photograph white. Besides that, we are happy for our guests to wear your favorite colors, including black!
Our ceremony will take place on June 17th at at 4:30 pm, followed by a cocktail hour at 5:00 pm and reception at 6:00 pm. We will also have a farewell brunch and pool party at the Barretts' home the following day.
We kindly ask our guests find their seats fifteen minutes before the ceremony (4:15 pm) so everyone is ready! The groomsmen will be present to assist you.
The ICONA is wheelchair accessible. Our ceremony will take place on the beach. While there are no steps, we understand some guests may need assistance and our wedding party is prepared to help guests to their seats.
Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate children at our wedding. For guests bringing their families for the weekend, Sitters at the Shore organizes childcare services for vacationers in Cape May County. Please note you must enquire at least 24 hours in advance. https://sittersattheshore.com
We respectfully ask our guests refrain from having their phones or cameras out during the ceremony, as we would like our guests to be present with us and allow our wedding photographer to capture those moments. At the cocktail hour and reception, cameras are welcome! We will also have a photobooth for our guests to enjoy.
