After traveling for 24 hours straight, we arrived in Istanbul at 6:00 a.m. only to find out we missed our connecting flight to Cairo, Egypt. We were stuck there for 12 hours until we could catch a flight. We landed in Cairo that night and reached our hotel around 1:00 a.m., where our incredible tour guide, Usama, was waiting up for us. By 6:00 a.m., we were climbing aboard a shuttle bus with six Australian travel buddies. Running on very little sleep and plenty of jet lag, we made our way to the Pyramids of Giza. As the sun rose over the pyramids, Mike surprised Emily by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him.
