Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Please check out the travel section for our recommendations.

Question

When should we get there?

Answer

We will be in Opatija starting the Monday before (July 15th) our Wedding and leave the Tuesday after (July 23rd). There are a bunch of great beaches, attractions, restaurants, day clubs, and night life in the area. However, the main wedding festivities will occur on Saturday, July 20th.

Question

Are my kids invited?

Answer

While we adore your children, this will be an adult-only affair. Anyone within the Croatian "drinking age (13+)" is welcome to attend.

Question

Can I bring a friend?

Answer

Unfortunately due to venue capacity, only named invitees can be accommodated.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

We suggest bringing your A-game and dressing in your finest formal duds to be as Instagram-ready as our venue is. Keep in mind that it will most likely be hot as it is the peak of summer. However, ladies please bring something to cover your shoulders in church. Also, please refrain from wearing black as this is a joyous occasion.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Croatia is typically very warm during the summer months. Expect 8os and 90s majority of your stay. Don't forget swimsuits as you'll want to swim in the beautiful Adriatic Sea, but also come prepared with a pair of long pants and light jacket in case of an off day. We usually pack light summer clothes and beach essentials like board shorts and coverups as those are typical day attire. For night time, Croatians usually like to dress up a bit but going casual is totally fine, too.

Question

Any recommendations of other places to travel?

Answer

Croatia is very centrally located to the rest of Europe. With Opatija being on the north coast in the region of Istria, you will find it within reach of Italy. However, if you're already in Croatia, we really suggest that you take the time and explore its beauty. Check out Split, Trogir, Hvar, Dubrovnik, and Vodice to get a taste of some of our favorite cities. Zagreb is the capitol full of history and for sure a place to consider flying into and spending a day or two. However, if you are a nature-lover you should not skip Plitvice Lakes and Krka waterfalls.
