The Wedding Website of Bridget Deemer and Michael Dodrill
The closest airport is PDX (Portland International Airport). Hood River is a 1 hour drive east through the scenic Columbia River Gorge. If you don't want to rent a car you can catch the Max light rail red line from the airport to the Gateway North Station. Then catch the Columbia Gorge Express to Hood River (https://www.ridecatbus.org/columbia-gorge-express/). Uber service in Hood River is very limited. A one-way from the airport is ~$200. We will provide a shuttle service from downtown Hood River to the wedding venue site (which is a 25 minute drive south towards Mt. Hood from Hood River). Rooms book up quick for wedding season, so book early. While we recommend targeting downtown Hood River for lodging, there are also a number of nice options across the Columbia River in Bingen and White Salmon, WA. The Society Hotel in Bingen has an on-site hot tub, cold plunge, and sauna which books up well in advance.

This is where we'll be having our after party. It is located in the heart of downtown with easy walking access to the waterfront and shopping/restaurants. The room block is linked below & expires on August 13th (or whenever the available rooms run out), so we suggest booking early. The room block covers the nights of Sep 13 and 14, but if anyone wants to extend their dates just book through the link for the dates available and email planner@hoodriverhotel.com to extend your reservation. You must book through the link (not by calling the front desk).

This hotel is located right on the Columbia River and is connected to a foot path that extends the length of the Hood River waterfront. The restaurant has beautiful river views and is a local favorite despite being inside a chain hotel. The hotel rooms have not opened up yet for reservations, but check back as the date gets closer.

Travel Note

Lost Lake Campground

This is a beautiful campground that also has cabins and a lodge. There are spectacular views of Mt. Hood reflected in the beautiful swimmable lake. They have boat rentals too. It is run by a private concessionaire. It is a bit more off the beaten path, 50 minutes from downtown Hood River and 40 minutes from the wedding venue. Sites are reservable ahead of time and they book up quickly.
