Our plans for an epic wedding and party were rudely interrupted by a COVID outbreak in Sydney in late December 2020. Having only gotten engaged at Kangaroo Valley (yes, that's an actual place non-Aussies) in October 2020, we hadn't originally considered scheduling our wedding so soon after, but Australia's Department of Home Affairs nudged our plans forward ever-so-slightly. As many brides and grooms from 2020 onwards can tell you, planning a COVID wedding event is about as complicated as a Christopher Nolan movie. In the end, when a lockdown order came through just days before our wedding, we decided to lean into the 10-person event limit and got married as planned on December 28th, 2020 with immediate family, a few close friends, and a small Zoom party. It was beautiful, intimate, and truly one of the best days of our lives. And so, we thought, if it was so great the FIRST time, can you imagine how great it might be the SECOND time? With more family, friends, food, and festivities (totally nailed that alliteration), we thought we'd give it another go.
